From *email address hidden* Thu Sep 26 02:15:25 2002 Date: Sat, 29 Jun 2002 13:42:57 +0000 (europe/brussels) From: brenda *email address hidden* Reply-To: *email address hidden* To: *email address hidden* Subject: [ork!] vosges hello world, ok, so i've been crazy-busy here that i haven't really had time to put an update of our trip in vosges... so the characters: brenda kat jonas noeud the place: vosges. this is somewhere near some town called nancy which i have a vague idea of where it is... so go look on a map. :) it was a 5 hour drive from louvain la neuve, and very pretty! we started by visiting jonas's farm! (wow! i didn't know he had a farm, and it was super cool, they had a really pretty old house and SHEEP!!!! and their neighbours had cows but they were not very close so i didn't see them (j'aime bien les vacheS!) we picked up raspberries and cherries, and mmmm... lots of fruit. then we had fun in the supermarket where we accidentally bought baby liquified rice instead of powdered milk (which i thought was pretty good). then we went to noeud's house and we got to try some hotdogs that came in a jar, and suprisingly, they weren't as horrible as i imagined. we had lots of fun in the car, playing that 'who am i?' game, and 20 questions.. ( for those of you who have played with us before, here's a link.. http://www.sputt.com/p/scotland/DSCN1239.JPG ) we also had the pleasure of listening to britney spears and aqua. we arrived at the lake, remembered we didn't have any water, went back to a village, then oh it was crazy, but fun! we got water from a fish's mouth! (some funny fountain in town). it turned out that my battery for my camera was dead before i even got to the camp, but fortunately jonas had a camera! i have put photos, and a brief description of our trip here: http://www.sputt.com/p/vosges/ it was one of the best petite voyages i've done so far! to keep this short (since i think maybe these posts sometimes can be a little too long) i'll just give a list here of the highlights: - the never ending song - listening to jonas and noeud sing 'im not a girl and not yet a woman' - "isn't this beautiful?" - noeud referring to his wet shirt - "je suis vraiment desolé" - jonas - kat's etc etc song - harmonica fun - the car trip! - ronflement de noeud et katie (zzZZZZZzzzZZZ) - the remote control for the stereo - the raspberries!! --- you can see/hear more of the story on the web page... when i arrived back in louvain la neuve, my whole kot was crazy with people arranging everything...that night there was some huge party that took up the whole town, i was too sleepy though. then the next day i went to the zoo with jonathan and denis! it was super cool, we started out a bit late, but it was super neat. :) we saw lions and tigers and bears! (and kat- flamingos!!!! and chameleons! and storks! not fake ones like brugges either). i went to some "canadian ice cream' store which apparently imported the ice cream from canada. the ice cream was really good. actually better than im used to from canada. i don't quite understand why..and they didn't know where from in canada.. i think it's all just a hoax. then we went to a bbq near leuven, and that was cool, because it was full of engineers and stuff.. most of the people i've met here study arts...more fellow geeks! it was fun. jonas and denis told me and kat that roasting marshmallows over fires is a north american thing to do - but guess what we did? we roasted marshmallows over a fire! imagine that! pff! i'll put some photos (but no special page) of the zoo at http://www.sputt.com/p/zoo/ this weekend is not to grand, i have to be ready to leave belgium by monday, and i have to get myself all packed! i will be heading out to nice to meet up with dusit and hub and kat on tuesday... so the next time you hear from us.. you'll probably be hearing of the sud de france, etc. etc. brenda. --- ostrich - one who tries to avoid disagreeable situations by refusing to face them.
